What about hurricanes?
Good question. A hurricane could interfere with your cruise anywhere from June through November. If it really bothers you a lot, then cruise December through May, but our suggestion is, "Just don't worry about hurricanes." On an annual basis, very few hurricanes actually interfere with cruises, so the odds are way, way in your favor. Also keep in mind that the cruise line is not about to risk their $400,000,000 ship (read that, "400 Million Dollar Ship") in bad weather. Not only that, but the ship is like a huge hotel--if you're not happy there, you're not going back there, and that's the last thing a cruise line wants--unhappy guests. Also, a storm cannot catch up with you. Your cruise ship can go 500 miles in a single day, and no storm can do that. If a hurricane does threaten your itinerary, the cruise line is most likely to cruise somewhere else that week, so you will have a wonderful new surprise itinerary to enjoy. If worse comes to worst and the cruise line sees that a hurricane is actually going to be a problem, they will cancel your cruise, refund all your money, and offer you a discount on another cruise, so you'll really win big-time. worried, then just be sure to buy the travel insurance, and then go ahead and "go for it!"
