What is a typical cruise like?
Typically, you will purchase a seven-night cruise from your travel agent for about $2,000 for two people, which will include the cruise, the round-trip airfare, and the port charges and taxes. Let the adventure begin! On the first day of your cruise, you will have to get up way too early, you will go to your home city airport and board an early morning flight to where your ship is. Your adventure continues! Your cruise line staff will meet you at the airport about noon and take you and your luggage to the ship. Then you get to go through EMBARKATION! By about 1:30 PM, you will go to your stateroom, use your bathroom, unpack your carry-on suitcase, and go up to the lunch buffet that will be waiting for you. Then you get to explore the ship! About 4:30 PM, more adventure. LIFEBOAT DRILL!!! Then about 5 PM, with live music and festivities on the pool deck, your ship will sail away! All your meals are included in your cruisefare, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, the midnight buffet, and even 24-hour room service. Also included are all the ship's activities, including use of the jogging track, the health club, and the swimming pool. In addition, all the ship's entertainment is included, including first-run movies on the color TV in your stateroom, and live Broadway-style shows in the show lounge. For seven fabulous nights and days, you will cruise to various ports, where you may get off the ship, and shop, sun and swim on the beaches, and take fascinating shore excursions (optional). On the eighth day, which will come all too soon, you will arrive back in the ship's home port, where you will have time for a full breakfast on board before the cruise line staff takes you and your luggage back to the airport for your afternoon flight back to your home city airport, and you will have had, without a doubt, absolutely the best vacation of your life. You will be refreshed and invigorated and at the same time TOTALLY EXHAUSTED! You will feel like resting up from your vacation, and you will say, "I can't wait to go cruising again!!!"
